Tampa Virtual Server Experts
VMWare and Hyper-V virtualization experts

Did you know: You can access your virtual server from anywhere in the world within seconds. Not only can you access the data, but the programs as well. This is one of the biggest reasons business owners choose to go virtual.

Server Virtualization has become one the most important and beneficial network technologies over the past 10 years. Virtualization software (VMWare ESX. VMWare VSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V) allows you to run multiple server operating systems simultaneously on one physical server. This is possible because VMWare ESX, VMWare VSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V creates a virtual self contained image for each server. Each server hosted in the virtual environment shares hardware resources saving money on administration, power, rack space and hardware. Each image or server can have it’s resources adjusted to allow room for growth as well as the reduction of allocated resources which reduces server waste. Our Virtual Server Engineers are trained in virtualization resource optimization; this ensures that your hardware is being properly used and that critical servers have the optimal resources allocated. Find out how much your small business could save using virtualization combined with having your server offsite.

Virtual Server (Cloud Computing) Benefits
Ability to run multiple servers on one physical server.
Less electricity and cooling required due to server consolidation.
Lower administration costs for server, single console for all servers.
Much lower chance of hardware failure.
Shared resources allow your admin to maximize the use of resources.

Recent Server Virtualization / Server Consolidation Project

6 Physical Servers Consolidated to 2 Physical Servers

Bay Business Edge, Inc. was hired by a large car dealership in Tampa to virtualize 4 servers and 2 SQL 2005 servers. All 6 servers were run on Dell and HP servers. We started by cloning each Microsoft 2003 Server to the virtual images and copying to new hardware. After the 2003 conversion was complete, we repeated the process with the SQL servers. The client purchased two physical Dell Poweredge servers that would easily handle all 6 virtual servers with plenty of room for expansion. Each 2003 Server was setup with DFS and the Microsoft NLB cluster. Using DFS and NLB allowed both servers to stay in sync. This also allowed us to have a redundant environment with an exact mirror on both servers. In the event of a major hardware failure on one server or a VMWare ESX host crash, the other VMWare ESX server would be able to handle the entire load. The Microsoft SQL 2005 Servers were setup to use SQL 2005 Mirror Technology.
